The power of gratitude..

The power of gratitude is a great one if it can really be understood and implented in one’s own life. Being grateful teaches us to be more accepting of the situations of our lives.

We must practice being grateful on a regular basis. We should practice being grateful to everything. By this I mean even the negative things of our lives. Infact to be honest, we should be more grateful to the negative things of our lives. We should be grateful about how we’ve made mistakes in our lives, how we’ve lost several times, how we’ve embarrassed ourselves, how we’ve been insulted before, how we’ve been angry, how we’ve acted foolishly, selfishly, badly and so on. Whatever bad things that we can think of of our lives we should really be grateful for.

Ofcourse we should also remember the positive things to be grateful for. But remembering to be grateful to the negative things makes us accept them more gracefully. Generally we don’t want to accept the negative side of our lives. This creates other negative things like stress, anxiety and so on. And later on when you realise the mistakes you feel guilty, you start regretting, sulking and so on. All these also come with not being able to accept our negative side.

We should always remember that the good side of our lives couldn’t have come without the negative side. We wouldn’t have been able to realise the positive side without the negative side. So to be grateful for both the sides is absolutely fundamental.

Only when we start the practise of showing gratitude can we really understand the power of it. Once we understand the power of it then the negative things of our lives, the negative side of our lives will not able to bother us as much as it used to. We’ll slowly start feeling the effects of showing gratitude in our lives. We’ll be happier, more peaceful, calmer, more content and so on.

Om Shanti..??
