Spiritual effects on society..

Sometimes I do wonder how spirituality can be of use to the society. First thing that comes to my mind with being spiritual is that it can really make you aware of how everything is connected and how we all are as valuable as each other.Spirituality can definitely make the society more tolerant, patient, calm and peaceful in that respect. Being aware of the connection will definitely make us perceive society as more of a community than a consumer market. It will also make us aware of the importance of difference. No two thing can be same and yet be of the same origin is the fundamental law on which evolution works. So all the difference which generally irks us will be more acceptable to us. Being aware of both the difference and connection can make us compare things or life a little less. The current social mindset is more of ‘what I’ll get in return’ rather than doing something lovingly . Take for example me, I’m writing this with the expectation of getting appreciated, recognised, gaining materialistically and so on. Most of the times the things that I expect don’t happen and yet I write again and again. Why do I write again and again then? It’s because in my heart it’s not only about the expectations, it’s about the desire and love to just write also. So both the feelings of writing for the love of it and writing to gain something out of it are right there within. It always will be like that as per the fundamental law that I mentioned earlier.Spirituality will give us the understanding of which one to side by. I’m sure deep down we all know which one to side by for our own long-term good. But it won’t happen out of the blue. It has to be instilled in the society with practise. It has to be practised or realised individually and collectively. We can guess as much which side is being consciously or unconsciously practised currently. It’s definitely more of the individualistic side. This side cannot do good on the long term as we can never remain good individually. Goodness always has to be collective. I believe the moment our general consensus goes more towards unity rather than divide, we’ll see a lot of changes for good in our society. It’s like the old saying, ‘it’s about which wolf within gets fed.’Om Shanti..??
