In this continuous motion, we’ll never know everything for sure but the thrill of ‘what happens next?’ cannot be realised if the ego is filled with ‘I know it all.’Thus, to know the thrill of the unknown, we must be able to keep our ego in check.

It pains me to see the backlash that Manu Bhaker is receiving for her exit today (25.07.2021). This is a 19 year-old , World No. 2, who had a malfunction of her equipment on the biggest day of her life. Lost over 5 minutes or so to get her equipment back to work and still almost qualified for the finals if not for the last shot which she just missed. This will make her stronger for sure. She’ll have a better experience of carrying a billion hopes the next time she competes on the international stage. But, this is for her to learn from. What about us though? Can we as a nation also learn from this and show some empathy on a fellow countrywoman who must already be hurting tremendously on personal front?

Let’s talk about meditation. I’ve spoken to people who say they want to start meditation to improve their concentration. Or they want to practise it to improve consistency in work. This kind of leveraging doesn’t work. That is because meditation helps you, the being and not necessarily your profession or your productivity in work. It helps you which in turn may help you in your professional development. Or it may not, you may completely lose the intention with which you were working with. Trying to leverage meditation is a sure shot way of getting frustrated. The primary reason for professional success is the degree of desire we possess to be the best that we can be at what we do.
Om Shanti.. 🙏
