When do we feel negative?
When a particular situation, person, work or whatever is not according to the way we we want or need is when we become negative. Negativity can come through any type of emotion. Be it anger, fear, irritation, sadness or any other thing.
Now, if we scrutinise a bit more deeply, we’ll understand that negativity comes when a particular thought pattern is not compatible to the way of our thought patterns. That means, when a certain thing happens in front of us, we react according to our thought pattern. I’ll give an example here.
There are some people who like to watch action movies and there are some others who don’t like to. Why is it that way? It is because of the vibrational compatibility. This example can also reveal an interesting thing. That is, the definition of negativity can sometimes differ within individuals. I’d say ‘sometimes’ here because there are certain things which are generally negative as well. Say for example, Duryodhan, the chief antagonist of Mahabharat. Duryodhan would be generally termed as an evil being and people react negatively towards that character. Although, he did have some positive qualities as well, but then let’s not get into analysing his character here.
So, everyone of us feel negative sometime or the other. It is natural for us to react negatively sometimes. But, how do we get away from it is the question ?
Well, frankly speaking we can’t. But how we react to negativity depends on how well we understand what negativity is. Now, let’s go back to Duryodhan again. Would such a great story of Mahabharat which gives us every life lesson happen without the evil character of Duryodhan? No. If we analyse Mahabharat in general then we can realise that it has actually tried to tell us the actual meaning of Oneness.
The good, say Arjun, eventually conquering the bad, say Duryodhan, and then both of them go back to the their origin which is the same, say Lord Krishna.
It is the same as the One which is both good and bad or beyond. From that One everything comes out, manifests itself as opposite forces which collude against each other and then go back to their origin again.
Now, as I mentioned before, we need to understand this to get better in our day to day life. The thing which gives us a negative vibe is actually a thing which is not compatible to our thought pattern. And it’ll not cease to exist as long as we’re alive. There will always be something which will scare us, make us angry, sadden us, irritate us and so on. We need to realise it. But at the same time, it’s important to realise the fact that these vibes which make us negative are very important for us to understand our own character or thought pattern. In blunt words, we will not be complete without the understanding of negative vibes. We need to accept that, even welcome that I’d say.
And, the moment we accept the negative vibes and start welcoming them, we elevate ourselves to a kind of neutral plane. That neutral plane is like where we imagine where Lord Krishna is, beyond both good and bad. Welcoming both of them with open arms as He knows that it is impossible to complete the cycle without either of them. The fight between them is eternal but the fight happening is the most important thing nonetheless. It is the one fundamental truth of life itself.
Om Shanti….?
