Silence is a very deep thing. Silence can often be misunderstood. We maintain silence for various reasons. But it is indeed the foundation of spirituality.
We must maintain silence as much as possible in order to keep our minds still. Silence brings stillness to our minds. Stillness in turn makes us gain knowledge. And as it is said, knowledge is power.
Silence needs to be practised. It doesn’t often come to us naturally. Here, I don’t mean ‘not talking is keeping silence.’ Absolutely not. We can sometimes not talk but our minds can be racing. We need to be silent from within.
Mind’s natural tendency is to react. While that is absolutely necessary in some case but that very reaction creates a lot of other reactions and so on. The real knowledge often gets lost in the chain of reactions.
Practising silence can give us the power to let our minds choose when to react and when not to. This absolute power is the thing differing from person to person.
A person with the power of practised silence will be an unique person whom others can learn from.
We must practise silence regularly . We must meditate regularly.
