Today when the first copies are in hand, and I can call myself a published author, the feeling that is there, is happiness. This feeling reminds me of my playing days, especially the winning days, and brings an interesting thing to mind. What exactly gives happiness?
Here, let me recall a tweet by Morgan Housel I read sometime back. It goes something like, “People want to make money, not keep money.” how this tweet is related to this? Well, it means that people want to do something, be in action, and feel happy. But, why so, why not just be to be happy?
Here, we need to understand the difference between blissfulness and happiness. Blissfulness is inexplicable, it is the base, it doesn’t arrive though, it is there and requires your observation and nothing else. Whereas, happiness is a manifestation of it. It arrives through a complex process that can be summarised as imagination – effort – success/failure – transformation.
What is this process though? It is life itself. However, I like to call it, creativity. People or conscious beings imagine something in their minds, find solutions, execute it, and eventually succeed or fail. So creativity is effectively a seamless flow of energy. If the flow is perfect, the result manifests in happiness. If it isn’t, the result manifests in…….learning.
