It is our thoughts that liberate ourselves and also our thoughts that fills us up with ignorance. The laws of physics bind us in such a way that this powerful mind which has the ability to solve complex problems is the very thing which lands us into trouble in the first place.

The human consciousness is varied enough to incorporate various streams of activity that can be called selfless. A man may work for the betterment of its surrounding environment, one may work for material wellbeing of its fellow beings. One may even work for the psychological, physical development of others. What may seem selfless work to some may seem different to some others. Point being, all these streams are equally important in its own way. One trying to denounce the other or trying to do one over the other is when the tension arises. The harmony of these streams, infact all streams ensure human progress. We must realise the fact that human consciousness is varied enough even for the human mind to be surprised about, to be even ignorant of. We need not denounce or look down upon things we do not understand. That is real progress.

The simplest thing is often the hardest. It is very difficult to remain focused on one thing. Say for example, focusing on an image or the space between brows while meditating.Â
But why though? To me, the mind exists only in motion. If it is not forming an imaging or reacting to anything then its existence is very difficult to trace. This means that the very nature of the mind is to continuously do its job. And, its job is to relentlessly create stuff in the form of perception. This relentlessness of the mind is also how we trace time and through time we can trace the restless, relentless nature of mind. This is why to keep the mind in one place becomes so very difficult. To keep it one place means to direct it to work against its very nature.Â
