Mental Image, Cave Dwellers, Emotional Upheaval!

The only thing linking your yesterday to your today is your mind. Otherwise the person that you were a year back is a completely different person to who you are today. It is your mental image, the chain of thoughts which keep the connection intact. This chain of thoughts is in a pattern. The pattern is formed in habits. So, if you are in a situation in life wherein you feel you need to change yourself, you need to break that chain of thoughts. You have to start to create a different image of yourself in your mind to become a new version of yourself. How do we do that? Stillness. Meditate to know that the life you are living is nothing but a set of images being played out of your mind. To change for the better, change that set. Stillness lets you take a halt from continuosly playing out those images. It lets you introspect and change if necessary.

Curiosity is the only thing that has let us grow from cave dwellers to what we are today. Without that it is difficult to imagine where we would be in terms of growth. Curiosity stems from the urge to know more. And, to know more one needs to ask questions. Guidance is nothing but fuelling that fire of curiosity in somebody’s consciousness. Once done, a guide’s work is as good as done.

Practice and be aware of non-attachment to have clarity of thoughts in times of emotional upheaval. Know what non-attachment is in relation to your body, people close to you, your work and the general social mood. In times like these, it is a must as clarity of thoughts give you better decision making ability which may prove to be crucial. Don’t abandon but don’t be too attached either.
