1)?
We should never think of ourself as the utmost of authority, neither do should we think of ourself as the most inferior or unimportant.
The truth is we can never get to any of the extremes. It is because both the extremes are so similar that we wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the two.
Also, all extremes exist beyond this perceptional realm.
I’d like to give an example of the similarity of extremes here. Imagine time. If we’re able to slow down time, we go beyond it at some point. At the same time, if we go faster than time we can go beyond it eventually (except we can’t in this vibrational formation).
Same goes with birth and death as well. We are unaware of what happens before birth and what happens after death. Again two extremes but similar perceptions in our minds.
So, point being, keep a balance in mind. Never get too ahead neither get slack.
P.S. – It is debated that some people can remember past births and so on. But the debate is inconclusive at best. And, even past births are not beyond time.
2)?
While being still, you sometimes lose yourself. When you do that, you lose your name, you lose your social identity. You lose your sense of superiority or complex. You lose your ego, your sense of responsibility. You lose everything there is for you to lose.
And yet, after losing everything that you’ve thought that your life is based upon, you gain a lot. You gain blissfulness, you gain that gentle smile, that sense of freedom, that feeling of fulfillment. You gain the real You.
So, my point is not to say that you leave your social presence but it is just to point out that everything that you’re looking for is right there with you. We just need to find your way to get there and that way is non-attachment. You do everything being non-attached, dropping that sense of entitlement and you complete yourself.
Happy Makar Sankranti !
