Poems – 1. The Common Life! 2. The Hard Road!

1)? The Common Life!

[As the sun dawns,

On the hour’s break,

So do we must,

To face the day’s dust.]

[For we’re to grind,

Like the ass with no mind,

We are to face strife,

In the name of life.]

[To pay back loan,

Or just to stop the social moan,

We have to race,

Oh!There’s no choice.]

[This is what they call life,

To have a wife,

Maybe a child,

Otherwise, you’re just too wild.]

[But who decides?

What life really is,

Few know that,

The rest just slog their butt.]

[True life is just to be,

There is no you or even me,

Truth has no law,

If that you think, it’s just a flaw.]

2) ? The Hard Road!

[An empty plate,

Sadly, that’s the state,

Is it too much to ask?

For a crumb of bread?

Don’t want more, oh! not a spread.]

[An empty soul,

With a mother’s role,

Is it too much to wonder?

Or even be angry?

Why my child, oh! beloved goes hungry?]

[An empty house,

Just for his weekend’s spouse,

Is it too much to look at?

And maybe fret?

That I got the street and rain to get wet?]

[An empty life,

After years of toil,

Should I not cry?

Just a little bit?

To see others meet and greet?]

[An empty womb,

No matter what,

Do I not ache?

For a mother’s sake?

When I see her give up what I didn’t get?]

Om Shanti….?
