My motherland India and we Indians.
We are of a culture of looking inwards. We are of a culture of values. We are more open about giving than getting. We are more open about accepting others with difference than contradicting.
We are never about establishing our ideas but slowly proposing them. We are about trying to solve things amicably than otherwise. We never believed in a race but always in a run together.
That is why in this age of materialistic conscience, we are always playing catch up. Inspite of us being intellectually capable of dominating the world, we never actually do dominate. That is because the word ‘ domination ‘ is not there in our DNA. Toleration to the extent of forgiveness is inculcated in our genes since centuries.
The sign of richness and poverty in our society is the sign of confusion that has gripped us since we started believing the western philosophy and it’s way of living as the Holy Grail. Acquiring of material wealth is something that has been put to us and was historically alien to us. Even our mythologies of great kings and their kingdoms were more about values than their superiority.
But the world that we see now is being dominated by this philosophy of materialistic thirst. Till the time it is like this, we’ll always play catch-up. Like a mule in a horse race.
Time has come for us to remember our core values and embrace them once again. Exercise them in a way which makes the world sit up and take notice. Make them realise the mistakes that they’re making by being more and more outwardly. Time has come for us to guide this world about spirituality, so that more and more people realise the Oneness that we’ve been having in our genes since time immemorial.
Om Shanti….Oneness ?
