Self -Love or Self – Criticism..Your Choice!

Sometimes it so happens that you have a particular dream or a purpose that eventually becomes your target. You live by it, trying to achieve it, until one day you just give up or simply don’t pursue it.

Now, to the naked eye it seems like you’ve quit. ‘Oh you’ve quit.’ This is what goes on in the mind as well. It becomes worse with the fact that others’ opinions tend to be on the same line. ‘You have commitment issues. You’re not patient enough. You were never passionate enough. Lazy and many more things is what you get told not just by others but yourself as well. As a result, the morale goes down to the point where you tend to believe all those negative things to be true about you.

You shy away from taking on another challenge as a result of that. Fear of failure creeps in.

Now, Let’s look at this same situation in a different way. You had a purpose which you were pursuing until one day you just quit or stopped pursuing it. Why did this happen?
Well, it just might happen that the purpose which was so dear to you may have lost its potency. In that case the desire to achieve that will lessen. Naturally you will stop pursuing it

Many teenage crushes die down and some of them make us laugh for its silliness when we grow up. Most of the sky high ambitions as a youth die down when we touch mid-life. This is absolutely normal. It’s called evolution. They don’t make much sense with time because our conscience rises to a higher plane than when we first had those dreams or targets.

So next time if you stop pursuing something and give up because somehow it’s not making sense to you anymore, remember that you’re not lazy or non-committal or anything else.

You’ve simply just outgrown your purpose which is absolutely normal as having a purpose in the first place. Don’t be too self-critical about that.

The self-esteem remains high this way. It will let you find your real purpose of life and help you achieve it.

But the self-critical way is a surefire recipe to be fearful to take up any further challenge in future.

Which side will you be on ? Your choice.
