Everybody wants to be inspired. We’re all looking for that moment, person, situation from which to draw inspiration from. We start going through books, mags, posts, biographies, talks and what not. The desire to be inspired in us is insatiable in itself.
Well, to be inspired we don’t need to do much in my opinion. If we’re looking for an outside spark to feel inspired then let me tell you that inspiration is all around us. Every moment there are inspirational things happening around us. Every moment you see life you can draw inspiration from.
The trick is plain and simple. Put yourself in a particular person’s shoes and try to judge his or her life from his or her perspective. I’m sure you will understand the scale of adversities he or she has had to face to get to the positions they currently find themselves in. Most of the stories will inspire you then.
Infact, why only humans? You can put yourself in a stray animal’s shoes as well. Say, a cat with kittens to raise in this concrete jungle. To raise even one kitten successfully, imagine the scale of hardships it has to go through. Imagine that now and I’m sure you’ll feel inspired. Not only inspired, empathetic as well.
We wouldn’t be quickly passing on judgements around with this one simple trick I believe. Also, the quest to draw inspiration from will become much easier.
Life is happening all around us, in this very moment. We just need to look around and absorb as much of it as we can to fulfill our eternal quest to live well.
Om Shanti….?
