Balancing act of Nature!

YEAR 2005.

I was asked by my school not to appear for 10th board exam. I wasn’t prepared to even pass was what their understanding was. And being in a reputed school which had(still has I guess) no failure in their history, they were right in their way. As a result I lost my year academically.

Well, truth be told, I wasn’t prepared for exams at all. I’d flunked miserably in the preboard exams usually conducted by the schools. I had scored 3/100 in maths if I remember correctly.

The reason behind this horrific situation?

Well, I was India No.1 in U-19 (in both singles and doubles events) in badminton and was continuously flying abroad to represent my country. I was always preparing myself for tournaments rather than exams.

Now, looking back, I believe life really does even things out. Balancing things out is the law of nature.

So my suggestion, be humble when you achieve something. And be gracious when you’re going through a rough time.

It’s because if we’re not then as nature finds a way to balance things out, we go through tremendous mental, emotional upheaval.
Humility in success prepares you in a way to not get traumatized in eventual failures.
At the same time, grace in failures prepares you to not get too traumatized by it and take the next necessary step.

In a way those two virtues, if applied properly and at the right time work as an antidote to the delusional highs or lows your ego might go sometimes.

Om Shanti..?

I'm a former professional badminton player. I've been writing about whatever the mind can grab hold of. If I can help anybody with my articles then I'd be grateful. Thank you.
