The current social system that we’ve put across for us is to me a system which requires change. The majority of us just struggle to survive throughout our life. The question that naturally arises is, how do people elevate themselves when they’re still just worrying about survival? An animal lives to survive is what we generally see. Does our current social structure offer anything better than that? If we’re not worrying about the basics then we’re definitely worrying about making more money, earning more profit. The collective consciousness of the majority of us have just been limited to that.
We all know that humans are intellectually capable of achieving much more than worrying about the basics of life. Then why is it that the majority of us have failed to go beyond worrying about the basics after so many million years of existence? Now, we all know that we’ve also made some brilliant discoveries and made tremendous progress as well. But on a mass level we’re still stuck on the basics. What I fail to understand is our failure to eradicate the need to worry about basics for everybody so far.
To me, eradication of the worries for basics is the first sign of progress in a planet. The dominant species is at peace with each other, they’re taking care of each other, of the planet and its other weaker species. They’re making sure that they’re not growing exponentially, becoming too dominant or taking too much off the planet for it to be as steady as possible. That should be the priority. Now, I know that it is also inevitable that we’d feed off mother earth as we’re a part of it’s ecosystem. But given our intellectual abilities, we need to be mindful to utilise as less resources as possible to maintain it’s balance.
There’s just too many things happening around us which is the cause of us being unmindful. Now, this really pops up another question, why are we being so unmindful even though we know that it is harming us in the long run? To me, there can only be one answer to that. We are too busy thinking about our survival to really care about the larger stuff. Most of us are trying to chase some unchasable stuff or running a never ending race to survive better. We are deluded into thinking that it’s the only thing humans are meant for.
This society has become such that it will look down on you if you go out and say ‘I do nothing.’ That is why it is difficult to become mindful for us of larger things. The collective consciousness of the dominant species of this planet has just turned into a mere delusion of ‘go out there and do something.’ To me, it should be ‘just go out there and be’ instead. We must understand that standing still is living as well and it is most definitely a sign of a less worrying mind.
Being mindful should first be taught to all of us in the society. To go after profit is something that we must eradicate from our social system. To chase your dream is also something which needs to be optional for everyone. You can either chase or don’t but that shouldn’t stop you from availing your basic needs to survive is what we should make sure of. The collective consciousness of this planet should realise that chasing your dream puts a limitation on your capabilities to learn so much more. We need to understand that just being yourself can teach you things beyond the limit of our senses which can really help us a lot as a species.
Global Togetherness..?
Global Oneness..?
