Throughout the holiest of books of different religions we will find one thing absolutely common. That one feeling has been given so much importance in those great books that it is impossible to not notice it. That feeling is Love. But how exactly is Love defined in those books?
To me it is the one Universal Feeling which is there everywhere endlessly. We can even go on to say that Love is what created this Universe. We need to just observe things a little carefully in order to understand that. First thing that comes in mind with observing Love is mother’s love. It is said that a mother’s love is second only to God’s love. So when a woman becomes a mother, and particularly for the first time, then in most of the cases she acts towards her baby instinctively. That motherly instinct is mostly for the benefit of her baby. It is generally selfless. That selflessness is stemmed out of love.
Now there are many kinds of love that we see in the world. A mother’s love, a lover’s love, a passionate love of becoming something and so on. These are all love coming through from different perspective. In fact even killing or looting comes out of love itself. But the love for those kind of things comes from an ignorant being whereas the love for an act of selflessness comes from a very knowledgeable being. The base of everything is love and only love. Love focused on a particular object becomes each one’s own personal love.
So we must understand that we need to harness this eternal love into something which is beneficial to us and everyone combined. We need to go from love for a particular purpose to loving in general. To put it simply, loving as selflessly as possible is the highest order of love that we can possibly spread. The need of the hour is exactly that on a mass level.
A prayer for the world :
[We rise, we fall,
We shine, we stall,
But we must do all that,
With selfless love overall.]
